“The first non-alcoholic wine ever that I really like!"
This is a direct quote from Harold Hamersma of De Grote Hemersma, the most complete and respected online wine guide in The Netherlands.
Hailing from Germany, the Leitz family have been producing wine since 1744 so they know their stuff. More recently, they have expanded their range to include a selection of alcohol-free wines and they certainly do not disappoint. From their Rieslings to their Pinot Noirs, the Leitz team are true pioneers in the non-alcoholic wine category and we are so excited to be able to represent this remarkable brand.
So, how have Leitz managed to get it right while so many others simply have not? In short, it's about temperature, quality and time. Might sound simple, but it’s incredibly complicated. It all starts with the highest quality grapes, sourced from gentle hills and secluded valleys, in an ideal climate within the Rheingau region in Germany. Leitz use the Vacuum Distillation method, a process by which the alcohol is removed from the wine in a gentle way whilst simultaneously retaining the wine aromas. For this process, the wine is placed in a vacuum so the temperature does not exceed 29 ° C. This is one of the most remarkable properties of any Leitz ZERO product and a guarantee of alcohol-free enjoyment.
